MY GOALS.....My goal is to be an Age Division Winner and a Boston Marathon Qualifer & Participant as long as I can run this short, fat, tired old man body down the road!!!  This gettin' old crap isn't for the weak of heart, mind, body or spirit!

I love doing this race. Out of the 20 years this race has been held I 've done 15 of them. Crazy Curt seems to do things a little different than other race directors but his heart is in the right place and he manages to pull off a pretty good 1/2 marathon down the Provo River Trail.

It was about 63 degrees at the starting line which was fairly nice, but once we got going it heated up rather quickly. Since the trail is tree covered most of the way there is shade on the trail that seems to keep you out of the direct sunshine most of the race.

At the half way point you come off the trail and run up the frontage road for about a mile and a quarter of some pretty stiff uphill runningr. Then its most generally down hill all the way to the finish line that winds back down to the River Woods shops on the river Trail.

None the less I had a great day, I ran with two new friends and I actually got to play coach to a young lady that was running her very first 1/2 marathon....I did so well she beat me to the finish line by about 5 minutes.

I was a bit slower this year only turning in a 1:49:36, but it was good enough to place 1st in my 60 - 64 AG. My plan was to make this a training run to get me ready for the New York Marathon in 84 days!!!!!! tyi....
