GOALS.....My goal is to be an Age Division Winner and a Boston Marathon Qualifer & Participant as long as I can run this short, fat, tired old man body down the road!!!  This gettin' old crap isn't for the weak of heart, mind, body or spirit!

Today will be a 4 mile rest run......a good way to ease into week two of taper time. I'm really enjoying taper time this go round. It was a pretty tough training cycle and I glad it's all done except the UVM.I'm planning on about  35 miles this week spread out over 5 or 6 runs.

Sounds like a great plan, Slick. I hope I can hang with you for at least some of UVM -- I'd love to see you BQ there...but, you may be done long before I hit the finish line. Don't do anything stupid.:)

ahhh...I LOVE the beginning of taper weeks! It's the end when you want to run, but know you have to keep it short that begins to irritate me :)

Your plan sounds spot on! Can't wait to hear about UVM! It really is 'THE RACE' this year.

Tom-so it is your sl half running buddy. I got into SGM, so I am going to need someone to run some longer runs with and train with. we should do some longer runs on the weekend so you can teach me all you know.

Thank you all! I've trained smart and hard this go around recovering from my 2008 knee surgery and I believe that I've brought myself back from the brink of never running again to what may be a PR performance for this tired, fat, old man at UVM.
