Got up late this morning and went out for a long slow 20 miler. I think I'm going to start getting up earlier to beat the heat of the day now that it looks like summer is here....

Today is weight day! I weighed in at 161.4. Yahooo...only 1.4 pounds to go to make my goal weight and 5 weeks before UVM and 21 weeks till SGM. I've lost almost 20 pounds since Dec. 20, 2009 and kept it off.

Great job on the run and excellent on the weight loss. I've lost three lbs since last week. I'm hoping to get down to at least 180 by marathon day. Last year I was at 176 on that day.

DoG, thanks for the attaboy, The run was long and the temp started to go up by the end of it, I sucked down three bottles of sports drink during the run. Oh well time to get ready for tomorrows 10 miler. Keep up your good weight loss activities....use fitday.com to chart your food intake...it helps to know exactly what and how much your eating by logging it in everyday.

NICE 20 miler! GOOD JOB on the weight management!

From Tom Slick on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 10:24:47 from 168.179.157.104

No! I'm not amazing, I'm just a short, fat, balding old man trying really hard not to take the dirt nap!

From timp on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 10:46:16 from 144.189.100.25

Nice job on the run, Slick.

Dang I didn't know you've dropped that much since Dec. That is GREAT! Keep it up - it'll all pay off on race day.

From RivertonPaul on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 11:30:17 from 67.42.27.114

Nice weight control.

From Rhett on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 12:52:32 from 74.41.249.102

Weight control helps so much. I think a lot of it is mental, but what ever works. Great job and nice 20 miler.

From Kathie on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 12:53:08 from 63.248.105.188

Nice run and weight loss!

From Smooth on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 13:01:49 from 174.23.172.155

Slick ~ 20 lbs!!! That is EXCELLENT! I knew you looked trim and slim a month ago when I saw you. WOW! You're gonna fly down that Provo canyon at UVM!

From MrsFIT on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 13:28:39 from 205.127.241.18

Of all the challenges in life I think weight lose is right up there at the top - congratulations Slick!!!

Hey coach, when is your next rest day?

From Tom Slick on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 14:10:06 from 168.179.157.104

DoG - Next full rest day is saturday the 15th - gotta rest the day before a 21 miler.

Mrs Fit - Weight control is a bear, it's harder than doing the training.

Smooth - I want to do a PR run at UVM and the only way I can see to do that was to train like crazy and lose that 20 + pounds.

Kathie - It was a nice run but I'll start earlier next sunday to beat the heat.

Rhett - Now I need to make this weight a life style change and keep it off. I think that with just a little more effort I could be at about 157 lbs for UVM....for sure at SGM.

From RAD on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 14:41:30 from 67.172.229.125

Nice work on that 20 miler slim! oh...I mean Slick! :) Ogden will be a GREAT race for you, and you won't regret the work it took to get and keep off that 20!

From Tom Slick on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 15:31:00 from 168.179.157.104

RAD - I'm doing UVM this year not Ogden. Ogden would be a great race for me but......

Thanks for the complement!

From RAD on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 16:00:40 from 67.172.229.125

bwaahahaha...okay, I'm an idiot. I KNEW it was UVM and that is what I meant to type. Can I blame it on baby brain?!?
